Special trains to cope with post-Holi rush

East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to run Holi premium superfast special trains on Patna-Delhi (Anand Vihar), Darbhanga-Delhi and Barauni-New Delhi routes to cope with post-Holi rush of passengers from Sunday. According to ECR CPRO Arvind Rajak, Patna-Delhi (Anand Vihar 02365-02366) premium superfast express will run from Patna Junction on Sunday and reach Delhi next day in morning. On its return journey, it will leave Delhi on Monday and reach Patna Junction next day in morning. The train will stop at Ara, Buxar, Mughalsarai, Allahabad and Kanpur en route
Delhi, he said.



The Darbhanga-Delhi Holi special train (04405) will leave Darbhanga on Sunday at 12pm and reach Delhi next day at 8.50pm. It will stop at Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Muradabad en route Delhi, the CPRO said. Railways has also decided to run another Holi special train (04409) between Darbhanga and Delhi every Wednesday and Saturday to clear the post-Holi rush. This special train will leave Darbhanga at 12pm, the CPRO said, and run till March 14.

Besides, the railways will run Holi premium special superfast train between Barauni and New Delhi on Sunday. It will leave Barauni at 9.55pm and reach New Delhi next day in afternoon. It will stop at Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Moradabad en route New Delhi, the CPRO said, adding railways is also running a Holi special train between Malda-Anand Vihar on March 9, 16 and 23. This train will pass through Kiul, Mokama, Patna Junction, Ara and Mughalsarai. Railways is also running Holi special train between Guwahati and Gorakhpur (05609-05610) every Friday to cater to the needs of common passengers, he said.

Meanwhile, an ECR security official said railways has beefed up security measures at all major stations of the zone, post-Holi. RPF personnel have been put on alert. GRP posts are also coordinating with RPF personnel while maintaining a close surveillance at crowded stations, including Patna Junction, Barauni, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Mughalsarai.
